Wishing You Well with Maria Patrick

PODCAST: Remembering Sister Jean

Season 6 Episode 2

REBROADCAST - In tribute to the remarkable Sister Jean Dolores Schmidt, we are revisiting this special episode from Season 1 of "Wishing You Well". Originally released two years ago, it marked the joyful moment when Sister Jean threw out the first pitch at an MLB game — at the age of 104!

This past Thursday, Sister Jean passed away at the age of 106, just two weeks after officially retiring as the beloved Chaplain of the Loyola-Chicago Men’s Basketball Team. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, purpose and tireless encouragement that touched generations.

If you haven't already done so, I highly recommend reading her inspiring book:
"Wake Up With Purpose! What I’ve Learned in My First Hundred Years" — a beautiful reflection on life, resilience and lifting others up.

Thank you, Sister Jean, for the inspiration, joy and wisdom you brought into the world. Rest in Peace.
